Secrets of Keeping CZ Jewelry Sparkling Through The Years

Maintaining a CZ Jewelry is a mystery to many. A lot of jewelry owners think they are delicate and just let them stored away to accumulate dirt and dust in the fear of damaging them during cleaning. To The contrary, they are quite easy to clean and maintain. Even real diamonds demand regular cleaning to keep their brilliance and luster, and the same thing applies to cubic zirconia jewelries. A lot of things contribute to the dulling of our jewelries, simple everyday things like soap, dust, moisturizers and even sweat. Soap and moisturizers leave a dull film on your stone that is hardest to get rid of.

When cleaning your CZ jewelry, an old toothbrush will suffice, and there is no need to buy additional special equipment. You will also need a spoonful of ordinary liquid detergent or dishwashing solution diluted in warm water. Immerse the item in the solution and brush gently, wash it thoroughly and dry with a soft cotton cloth. If some of the buildup was left behind, mix a stronger detergent and immerse the jewelry in it for another 15 minutes and brush again. Another technique is use toothpaste and baking soda and cover the jewelry for 15 minutes, wet your old toothbrush and gently brush the jewelry piece, continue to dip your brush into water until you get a good lather. Rinse under running water while gently brushing until all the suds are gone. You will notice that your jewelry has regained its old glory.

Don't expose your CZ jewelry to abrasive substances like bleach or ammonia when cleaning. When you swim in a pool, don't ever use your jewelry, as these chemicals can make your jewelry appear dull. Although most abrasive cleansers will not damage a CZ stone, they will, however, take the lustrous shine off the metal in which the stone is set.

Gemologists all agree that the characteristics of CZ have this uncanny resemblance to a diamond, closer than any gem material available. As CZ gains widespread acceptance as a desirable substitute for diamond, the care and attention it should get should be the same way you would do for a diamond.

So if for some reason you cannot remove the dirt off your CZ jewelry, bring it to a jeweler and give it a high-pressure steam clean, similar to what would be done to a diamond. This will remove almost any scum off your jewelry.

When we inspect a jewelry brought in by customers for cleaning or repair, persistent dirt is always the outcome of irregular cleaning by the owner. Abrasive wear is the result and finally, possibly a loose stone.

When using make-up, lotions or hair spray ,it is best to do it before you put on your jewelry. To avoid unnecessarily damaging or scratching your piece, put your jewelry in a pouch made of cloth or stored in a compartment of its own in your jewelry box.

Maintaining the look of your CZ jewelry is just simply cleaning them regularly. If you wear it everyday, it is more than enough to clean it once weekly.

By following our simple tips on cleaning cubic zirconia, you will have assurance your CZ jewelry will not only maintain its original grandeur and splendor for years to come, but it will continue to sparkle radiantly for you when you wear it, and accompany you to any special event! It is going to be a delightful experience as the sun's rays reflect through your CZ jewelry.
